I bring you a mid-century house, inspired a bit by a real house in Cape Town, South Africa.

Welcome to Invermark House. This is the largest residential lot I have ever built and was quite a project to complete, but I am very happy with it.

It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a pool, a double garage, kitchen, dining area and two living areas. The real house, Invermark, ( which has 4 bedrooms and bathrooms), is situated quite high in a mountain area in Cape Town, South Africa, and while it is too complicated for Sims, I tried to keep the feeling of light and seeing through most of the house (the house has glass walls), as well as the zen-like minimalism it seems to have as well. Here is a look (I added 2 more pics of the real house):

I hope I have captured some of the magic of this house, which was built by South African architect Gilbert Colyn in 1969 for himself, inspired by a couple of famous mid-century modern homes. Later owners added extra structures and basically buggered up the place, but in 2015 it was restored by SAOTA architects to its former glory, who received a prestigious award for it. It has heritage status now and is rented out as a vacation home for about two thirds of my montly income per night. I simmified it, but the real house has two sets of walls, with sliding doors hidden in them, and one can almost look right through it. I tried to keep the open feeling of the house, elements of the garden and front view.

The floor plan is very open, I used arches and windows and mirrors, as well as bookcases for room dividers to try to achieve the feel of the house:

I hope you will enjoy the lot

I play tested a copy of this house and everything works - although it takes some time for sims to get to the house from the street. I added some stairs to the flowers outside so that sims who want to, can smell them () - but I do recommend a gardening mod such as these: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=13.0), since not all the plants are accessible (I tried to make the flowers all accessible, but the garden on the garage roof is not). Sims do walk through the car when it enters or exits the driveway, since the garage is sunken a bit, but it works.
