Preventing building shells from disappearing (as deco objects)
I have tried to find a way to stop the Late Night apartment shells from vanishing (as deco, not contained in a lot) when the camera is close, but can not figure out how!I found other threads asking the same question but with no solution - I tried all the suggestions.

I also edited the OBJD and OBJK resources to remove the reference to the shell scripting, and alter flags such as fade distance but no luck. Wondered if any modders might have an idea? Like I said, I only want them for decor to avoid placing excess lots in my world. Appreciate any suggestions.

I don't know if it works with shells, but have you tried using 0 as FadeType in the the MODL?

I had already tried this - I'd come across your post in my searches - but it didn't solve the problem.
However, double checking in S3PE prompted me to go snooping around in the MLODs and I finally found the solution!
http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...Geometry_States
Most of the shell meshes have 2 geometry states - one of which causes them to disappear. So I just deleted the geom states in the MLOD and it works! So far only tested it with one shell in CAW and EIG but I'll try more tomorrow.
Many thanks Arsil, it prompted me in the right direction. :D

That was my original intent: don't give you a straight answer but lead you there... Yeah, it sure was :P
Maybe it's better, instead of deleting a state, just copy the settings from the other one.
But if deleting it has no side effects, keep doing that.

I did more testing on several shell buildings in game today and I've not come across any side effects with deleting the states, but I'll keep note of your suggestion just in case.
Thanks again!

Could you provide anymore information on how to do this and get them in CAW?
Thanks.
