Help with animation
I feel like I'm posting this under the wrong section but I kinda need help. I want to make skateboard animations for a sims series I'm trying to do but I can't figure it out. I seen that someone else has done it before but the download links aren't working and I would like to make more animations using the skateboard. Here is the link to the video I'm talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqA7IP0Teb0 add animations to the skateboard can be done, I just don't know where to begin. I think they are using the animation player for this and it isn't mod but I'm not 100% sure

Never done animations before but I think you can make them with blender.
If you install the sims 3 animation tool and sim rigs

You can rotate the joints to make poses. I recommend this tutorial

Again, I don't know how to make animations but perhaps there are some videos on making animations with blender. Hope this helps

Thank you for replying. I actually know how to make animations in blender I just don't know how to make the skateboard animated so it will play like in the youtube video above. The skateboard is also animated but I don't know how to make that happen in game

Ahh I see what you mean now. This thread might have something useful?

I just searched for animations with objects and this tutorial came up :
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...stom_Animations
I know there are also sim animations with prop objects, so rather than the object being its own thing, it appears just for the duration of the sim's animation. This may be easier?
This might be some help as it includes making an animation with a prop object:

@TheSweetToddler might be able to help

I looked into the skateboard file, and it's an accessory weighted to a container slot on the Sim (glasses slot), like I thought. So basically, you animate the skateboard with the Sim's glasses slot bone, seems a little strange but that's how you animate accessories. Now it was a little inconvenient to weight the skateboards to a slot on the Sim's face, instead of a bone that isn't parented to a bone on the body, but if they were able to animate it then you sure can
Let me know if you need any more help (oh, and to get to the glasses slot, either go into edit mode with the sim rig, find the bone and select it, then unhide it in pose mode or press alt + h to unhide all bones in the rig).
