This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Can't change certain townies?
I'm giving my townies makeovers and I realized I can't do the special townies--is that normal? I haven't been able to find anything about it, I've never seen them on a list of sims you're not supposed to mess with, but when I change their clothes they revert back to their old ones. I'm worried I've hurt my game by trying to do this, is it possible that I have?

I can only change facial features/makeup for these two (not clothing or hair):

http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Remington_Jitmakusol

And I can change facial features, makeup, and hair for these two, just not clothes:

http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Grayson_Butler
http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Rebecka_Garth

I don't mind if there is no way to do it, I'm just afraid I've done something wrong and messed things up.

They're NPCs not townies and as such retain their 'work' outfits. The special 'townies' (diva, slobs etc.) though described as townies are sort of half way between. The only way to change NPC outfits are either to use a default or to have an NPC at an age not usual for the role (e.g. an elder diva).

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

The Slobs, Diva, and Mr. Big are identifiable by their outfits, so as long as they remain NPCs they presumably have some code attached that makes them revert to it so you know them when you see them. Once moved in they can be dressed normally, though their "special" outfits will be retained as an option. So, nothing to worry about.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.
