TS3 Pets
TS3 PetsGuidelines
These are the rubrics that MTS staff use for evaluating TS3 Pets shared here.
The title above the post text controls the rubric's category, a number indicating its display order in the list, and its title, with no spaces between the word and the dividing | character: Category|Display Order|Title
Titles that begin with ** are rubric items that will not apply to every upload (a rabbithole does not need to be recolorable for example) and thus can be set to N/A by the moderator when evaluating an upload. Links below the title are provided to the creator along with the rubric reasons and are links to the appropriate section of the guidelines, relevant tutorials, etc.
In the post text, the numbers at the beginning of a line indicate the star rating for a particular rubric item, with a possible 1 to 5. Exactly how these numbers are used will vary based on the type of rubric item... Is it a "was it done right? yes or no?" type evaluation which would have only 1 or 5 as options? Or a matter of quality that will be more of a sliding scale including 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? Or something else?
A dividing | character can be given at the end of any one of the 1-5 star items to give a link that is relevant to that item.

** Files|3|Saving your pet
1: Make sure to use the .sim file (which you can find in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SavedSims) for your pet, rather than a .sims3pack or .package.2: In addition to the required .sim file, you have also uploaded your pet as a .sims3pack. Mod The Sims only accepts pets as .sim files, please remove the .sims3pack.
5: You've uploaded your pet in a .sim file, huzzah!

** Information|4|Custom Content Credits
1:All items of custom content and sliders shown with your pet need to be properly credited. Please post a link and credit for each item of custom content shown on your pet in the text of your post. This should look something like "Collar by Simmer123: http://www.simmer123site.com/hair.html"2:This pet is shown with custom content or sliders, and you have provided some credits, but the credits are not sufficient. Every item of custom content must have a proper link and credit in the text of your post. This should look something like "Collar by Simmer123: http://www.simmer123site.com/hair.html". For sites like MTS where many users submit content, you must link to the user's profile or the upload thread - not just the site itself. Please make sure the links are clickable too!
5:You have provided a good link and credit for every item of custom content shown in your pictures. Fantastic!

** Screenshots|1|Face Closeup
1:Please include a close-up shot of this pet's face. This screenshot should be a straight-on screenshot of the pet's face, with a neutral facial expression - like a passport photo. It must be taken in-game on a lot (not in Create-a-Sim). For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.1:There is a screenshot of your pet's face, but it is unusable for assessing the pet due to the screenshot angle and the pet's facial expression. Make sure to have the pet facing the camera fully with a neutral facial expression; a basic "passport photo". For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
2: Make sure to take the closeup face picture in-game, on a lot (not in Create-a-Sim).
2: There is a close-up shot of this pet's face, but the angle makes it difficult to see the pet for assessment. Please take a new in-game screenshot from the pet's eye-level, and directly from the front (not at an angle). A basic "passport photo". For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
2: There is a close-up shot of this pet's face, but the pet's facial expression makes it difficult to assess. Please take a new in-game screenshot with the pet's mouth closed, eyes open, ears relaxed; a basic "passport photo". For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
3:You have included an adequate close-up shot of your pet's face, thanks!
5:You have included a close-up shot of your pet's face which is not only good enough that we can see the pet's face quite well, but is also very well presented. Good job!

Reason: add CAS level 2
** Screenshots|2|Full Body Picture
1:A full-body screenshot is required for all pets uploaded. This screenshot should show one full side of your pet's body, with the pet standing still. It must be taken in-game on a lot (not in Create-a-Sim). For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.1:There is a screenshot of your pet's body, but it is unusable for assessing the pet due to the screenshot angle and the pet's pose. Please take a new in-game screenshot showing the pet facing directly to the side, and with a neutral pose (just standing, not running, jumping, etc). For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
2: Make sure to take the full body picture in-game, on a lot (not in Create-a-Sim).
2:There is a screenshot of your pet's body, but the angle makes it difficult to see the pet well. Please take a new in-game screenshot with the pet facing directly to one side of the picture. Make sure to take the screenshot from the pet's eye-level. For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
2:There is a screenshot of your pet's body, but it the pet's pose makes it difficult to see well. Please take a new in-game screenshot with the pet simply standing still; not running, jumping, playing, etc. For a visual example of what we need and what not to do, please see the this image.
3:You have included an adequate full body shot of your pet, thanks!
5:You have included an excellent full body shot of your pet which is not only good enough that we can see the pet's whole body, but it is also very well presented. Good job!

** Screenshots|3|Comparison Picture
1:Please include a comparison picture of the real animal or character this pet is based on. This picture should show the body of the real animal, and (as much as possible) also show the profile of the face.2: There is a comparison picture included, but it is unusable for assessing your sim pet. This is either due to poor picture quality (for example: blurry, too dark) or because we can't see most of the animal's body.
3:You have included an adequate comparison picture of the real animal or character your pet is based on. However, it would be helpful if you added additional comparison pictures.
4:You have included a good comparison picture of the real animal or character your pet is based on.
5:You have included an excellent comparison picture of the real animal or character your pet is based on, so that it is very easy to evaluate the likeness. Thanks!
