I wish we could Create-A-Child in BodyShop! By mixing 2 sims, like in CAS.

When a sim looks for a job all they have to do is search in the paper or on the PC and accept the first one they like and they are sure they have it.
I'd love to see a mod that when a sim applies for a job, there's at least a chance it gets rejected.
It would also be great if a sim could go to a business and apply for a job with chance of rejection.

That'd be too much of a pain for me, especially considering how long it takes for the right job to show up if you have custom jobs.

I tried doing that and I have to agree with Charity - it gets a bit annoying. The way I did it is that there was kind of a probation period - after a first day at work sim either was approved or fired. But I didn't like it all that much. I feel like there has to be something more meaningful or challenging or funny about it to be interesting and really add value to the gameplay.
Maybe it could be separate from the regular job seeking process, so that we choose which sims go through this suffering and which don't

It can just add some realism. Maybe it's doable with a gloval mod that gives every career an extra level and then with a chance card gives you the chance to get the job or not.

Something that can tune the 'network' interaction to give more of a certain kind of reward and less of others - like more offers for dates or jobs, and maybe fewer TVs and computers. Or for negative networks, more demotions or bad reputations, and fewer taxes, or whatever you prefer, and a tuner object that you can use to shift the outcome chances for both kinds of network interactions.

It could be useful for those who are playing low-tech neighbourhoods but want to still use networking to give their sims things like promotions, demotions, reputation changes, or dates.

I want this too, but I'd like the outcome to be based on more t than chance, maybe set minimum qualifications for entry level jobs, so that the Sim has the chance to improve or try again. If I wanted a Sim to opt out, I'd use insim to give them the job, just like now.

That's indeed a nice adition. You need to qualify in skills for a job in RL too.
Sometimes you can be overqualified, maybe that's something to consider too if it not gets too complicated to create such a mod.

But..aren't you a Boss in making new & custom career? I'd love to see something like this, even if it makes getting a job harder. Posts are limited, you don't always need 3 policemen, and sometimes the Forces does not need any new employee(s), etc.. Some sims are way more qualified for said post than you are, or well sometimes, there is just NO job offer right now, ya know?
