I personally don't mind. I call my cat "baby", but its a term of endearment more than anything. I don't consider my cat my "child", she's my buddy. That being said, I don't find it "offensive" at all. It's such a small, small issue. It's not even really an issue. I don't think most women are insecure enough to feel invalidated by people who call their pets their baby.

Look, I call my dog "Sadie baby" or "baby" so um yes. You have the adoption papers, right?
