(There's a Baskin Robbins joke in here somewhere)
I love Serinion's portable bucket for ablution but wanted textures that would fit with more medieval / historical settings. I decided to be proactive & attempt recolors myself. I'm very rusty & not great at it, but I had some success with GIMP. I made this as a Standalone Recolor in Sims4Studio so it should not overwrite anything.
The labeling of each numbered bucket was to indicate the name of the dds files I used. I was too lazy to put them all in separate files so they are all together in a single package.
There are three metal versions. The first one is a darker version of the original bucket texture from Maxis (Outdoor Retreat). There are two "cast iron" ones. One with a metal handle and another with a rope handle.
There are a few variations of the wood buckets. Some have one metal band, some have two metal bands, and some have rope handles. I made rope handles for all of the buckets except the first metal one. The wood texture and metal band came from the Maxis "Boardwalk Trashcan".
I plan to update to reflect changes to the mesh as Serinion makes more improvements. I found out that the shadow inside was something on the mesh (well, Serinion told me that was what caused it & is working on fixing things to make the bucket look better- I've seen previews of some changes & they look great).

It has been brought to my attention that somehow Serinion's mesh was included with my file although you still need the original object to make this one work. BUT, it means that my recolors do not update to Serinion's newest mesh. I read something about if it included "geometry strings" it will have the older mesh. I am currently trying to figure out how to change this. Serinion has made nice improvements on the bucket-- made the water more realistic as it is transparent-- and Serinion's bucket is listed in Off-the-Grid & had some minor changes, has water usage of 1 and reliability of 3. I am trying to figure out how to make it so that my recolors will work with any new version Serinion creates- although I can clone the newer versions & upload them as well. If anyone has tips on how I can accomplish this & what I did wrong to make the mesh be included, please let me know.
Please read Serinion's terms for use- I asked & received permission to recolor before uploading. (Thanks @Serinion!)
Please let me know what you think. Hopefully there won't be any problems. I tested it in my game & it worked fine. I have the latest patch and Outdoor Retreat. Since it is a modified mesh, I believe it works with basegame, but if it doesn't, please let me know.
Please excuse the screenshots. I'm just learning how to mess with the camera. The upload manager wouldn't let me upload all of the images I wanted to upload so I linked them from my Tumblr site.
Catalog location screenshot:
In use (when placed on the ground-- works best if placed on a surface, but I was lazy & put it on a deserted beach island where my sim was stranded)
Closer shots of the recolors (I'm still discovering how to use the camera better so I hope they are OK):

This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.

About Me
I like to share things and it makes me feel good to know when people like my stuff. People may recolor my stuff to their heart's content but all recolors must be on free sites (or at least in free sections). Feel free to use my meshes and objects in uploaded lots. I want people to enjoy my work. You don't need permission from me to recolor my stuff, but if you do recolor I would love to see it.
I can sometimes do requests (so long as its not too complicated) so feel free to PM me with any requests or suggestions. Be warned that I work quite slowly though.
I haven't yet figured out how to make items for Sims 3 and I've lost all of my data for Sims 2.
I am interested in learning more about making Sims 3 items though.
Also, I talk way too much...
